Jamie Starrett

My name is Jamie Starrett and I have been working in student ministry since I myself was in high school. I have been a student pastor for the last ten years leading a purpose driven student ministry. I have a beautiful wife that I have had the privilege of being married to for the past ten years. We have one son and he is the joy of my life. I Became a Christian when I was in the eight grade. I grew up going to church with my next door neighbors. In fact my neighbor led me to Christ my eight grade year. When I was senior in high school I gave my life to full time ministry. In College I played football at Texas A&M Commerce and was the huddle representative for our Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In school I was also the president of the Baptist Student Ministry. During my last year of college the church I attended hired me to be their part time student pastor. When I graduated from college I then was able to work full time with the ministry I loved.

I became a Christian at the age of 15. I surrendered to the ministry the next year and began the journey of trying to find out where God wanted me to serve Him. Throughout that journey I did may things: music, student ministry, etc. Along the journey I discovered teaching and fell in love with it. I love the impact it allows me to have on students and how God uses that daily connection that I have to teach me about their needs and the needs of their families. I now feel God calling me to take that knowledge and travel as a Christian Speaker. Sharing the things that God has placed in my heart, what He is doing in my life, and how He is working all over our world. I am also heavily involved in the student ministry at our church, running a couple of youth ministry resource websites, working with the homeless population in our community, and now taking the gifts and passions God has given me for teaching and using them wherever God opens the door. Needless to say, it leaves little room to sleep, but my deepest desire it to use the time God has given me to the fullest. I have been married to my beautiful wife Stephanie for a year now. We live in Mesquite, TX and are beginning the process of becoming foster parents.
